Can I say s**t in the House of Commons?

Certain words in the House of Commons are normally taboo but sometimes it is possible to get away with using them by quoting someone and asking for ‘leave’ from The Speaker.

Here is Boris Johnson using the word ‘shit’ as he spars with Jeremy Corbyn in only his first appearance at Question Time since he became Prime Minister:

Boris Johnson, The Prime Minister
01 the shadow education secretary
02 the shadow education secretary says
03 that their economic policy
04 is and I quote mister speaker by your leave
05 shit or bust
06 Chamber: ((laughter))
07 I say
08 I say it’s both
09 I say it’s both mister speaker
